Colin Wright
At 19, Colin quit three of his five jobs and started up his first business. A magazine.
Initially successful and then horribly (and quite publicly) not, Colin learned three very important things from his experience. He learned that if you’re going to start a business, it’s probably best to know something about running a business. He learned that — after working a handful of jobs and starting a magazine while also earning a dual-emphasis university degree — operating in the real world is a fairly straight-forward and casual proposition. And he learned that failure is just one step on the way to success.
Connect with Colin
Years later, Colin was running a flourishing branding studio in Los Angeles when he decided to change course and try something new. After a breakup party with his then-girlfriend and getting rid of anything that wouldn’t fit into a carry-on bag, Colin hit the road and has been traveling the world — living in a new country every four months, based on the votes of his blog readers — ever since.
Today, Colin continues his travels and has focused his attention on the publishing industry as a whole, from the perspective of an author and that of a businessperson. Colin’s books include Amazon bestselling narrative nonfiction works Iceland India Interstate and My Exile Lifestyle, as well as the bestselling nonfiction Start a Freedom Business and How to Travel Full-Time. Colin recently started a speculative science fiction series called Real Powers — the first and second parts are currently available.
Colin has been a guest on and interviewed by TV, radio, and online personalities all around the world. He’s had his work published across the web, and in traditional publications like USA Today. He also sometimes appears in trashy tabloids next to very tan rock stars and celebrities. Colin is currently living in Missoula, Montana, taking in the chilly mountain air and working with the Asymmetrical team before hitting the road again later this year.
